Sales Representative/Account Manager
Sales Representative/Account Manager
will work with management and marketing associates to generate
business. Make proactive calls, respond to, and follow-up
on leads, inquiries and other requests for information regarding
our student information software. This position requires
a reliable, goal-oriented and self-motivated sales professional
who is committed to superior job performance and furthering
our industry leading reputation. The successful candidate
must possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational
skills, to continually educate clients/prospective clients
on the benefits and advantages of using our software. Please
note: this job requires employment in our Lakewood, New
Jersey office.
Qualifications
• Basic computer hardware/software skills are necessary
to comprehend and demonstrate software features and
confidently answer questions to validate and sell the
product.
• Attention to detail is required, to develop and continually
refine and personalize presentations, to focus on client
specific needs.
• Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals
at all levels of the organization. Comfortable with
public speaking and dedication to compile research pertaining
to the territory, its needs, and our competitors in
that region. Must be willing to travel 25% of time to
multiple states.
• Ability to meet deadlines to complete necessary in-house
paperwork, and to understand and provide accurate proposals
and contracts to the customer.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multitasking environment
with minimal supervision, yet remain a team player for
the company.
• Have an understanding of an 8-24 month sales cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute effective sales
strategies to maintain and expand customer base.• Initiative
to research competitors and potential customers to competently
substantiate our software as the solution.
• Establish and maintain communication channels with existing
customers to ensure quality customer service, promote
new products and available upgrades, and to network for
potential leads and new contacts in their area.
• Keep current on new and existing software, legislatures,
policies and state requirements, to better serve the customer.
• Prepare for and attend industry conferences and shows,
to exhibit our software, as well as network, and view
competition.
• Demonstrate a willingness to participate in preparing
detailed “Requests for Proposals”.
Support Team Member

Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team to provide telephone assistance
and on-site training for customers who are using Star_Student,
Century's K-12 Student Data Management System.

Required: Pleasant
telephone manner. Good analytical skills. Knowledge
of Windows Operating system. College credits and/or
technical school courses in computers, networks, and/or
computer programming. Travel to customer's sites throughout
continental United States.

Desired: Previous
experience as school DBA, principal, teacher with knowledge
of school information processes (e.g. grading, scheduling,
attendance).
