Century Consultants, an industry leader in the Student Information Software field has launched Counselor Portal, the newest feature of its Star_Base School Suite™ software. Counselor Portal is aimed at opening the lines of communication between guidance counselors, teachers, parents/guardians, students and administrators.

Pertinent records are viewed in real-time, enabling counselors to formulate recommendations based on the most up-to-date information. Counselors will have accurate profiles of all of the students under their supervision, including students located in different school building locations such as vocational and off/campus classrooms. Walk-in schedule changes are accomplished in real-time and teachers and parents are notified via email. Class add/drops are available immediately in the database and automatic emails are generated to the original teacher, the new course teacher and to the counselor themselves. Test scores, report card grades, graduation requirements, transcripts, discipline and attendance records are all instantly available for student consultations and/or parent conferences.

The Counselor Log will track guidance appointments and the topics discussed in each meeting, for example; college applications, course selection, attendance and disciplinary issues. Homeroom teachers, classroom teachers and parents will receive an email alert regarding the scheduled meeting. Administrators can post news, policy changes or other announcements to all counselors in all schools on the counselor home page. District mandated counseling time/appointment requirements are easily tracked for reporting purposes as each appointment is recorded in the log.
